Why Study at RCA?
Learn By Doing
RCA's programmes combine structured teaching with practical exercises and hands-on learning.
Learn From Industry
Teaching is informed by the realities of contemporary film and television production and delivered with an industry-focused approach.
Work Across Departments
Students experience filmmaking as a collaborative process, working alongside other disciplines as projects move from script and preparation through production and post-production.
Experience Production
Students apply their skills within RCA's practical production environment, developing an understanding of what their role requires when a project actually has to be made.
Build Work That Shows What You Can Do
Courses include practical assignments and portfolio development so students leave with evidence of their developing skills, appropriate to their discipline.
RCA welcomes applicants through academic and creative/professional entry routes. Previous film-school training is not necessarily required.
Applicants should be prepared for an intensive practical programme involving learning, assignments, collaboration and active participation.
Depending on the programme and applicant, RCA may request an interview, audition, portfolio, writing sample or other relevant material as part of the admissions process.
